1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to SHULE.AI ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of the SHULE.AI platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Service Description
SHULE.AI is an AI-powered educational platform designed for Kenyan students. The Service provides:
- Juma AI Tutor — a conversational AI assistant trained on the Kenyan curriculum (CBC and 8-4-4) for all subjects and grade levels
- AI Exam Generator — automated multiple-choice and structured exam paper generation based on subject, class, and topic
- Chat history — persistent storage of your tutoring conversations for revision
- Subscription management — Basic and Premium plans with different daily question limits
We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time without prior notice.
3. Eligibility
To use SHULE.AI, you must:
- Be at least 8 years of age
- If under 13, have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian
- Provide accurate and complete information when registering
- Not have previously been suspended or banned from the Service
- Reside in or be studying under the Kenyan education system (the Service is optimised for the Kenyan curriculum)
4. User Accounts
4.1 Registration
You must register for an account to access the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account information updated.
4.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- You must not share your account credentials with any other person
- You must notify us immediately at hello@shule.ai if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account
4.3 One Account Per User
Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or bans is prohibited.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
5.1 Subscription Plans
Access to AI tutoring and exam generation requires an active paid subscription. We currently offer:
- Basic Monthly — KES 500/month — 50 questions per day
- Basic 3-Month — KES 1,200 — 50 questions per day
- Premium Monthly — KES 999/month — 1,000 questions per day
- Premium 3-Month — KES 2,499 — 1,000 questions per day
5.2 Payment Methods
We accept payments via M-Pesa (Safaricom STK push) and card payments through Paystack. Payment is due at the time of subscription.
5.3 Daily Limits
Question limits reset at midnight UTC every day. Unused questions do not roll over. If your daily limit is reached you will not be able to send further messages until the next reset.
5.4 Renewals & Cancellations
Subscriptions do not auto-renew. You must manually purchase a new subscription when your current one expires. You may cancel an active subscription at any time from your account settings; no pro-rata refund will be issued for the remaining period unless the cancellation is due to a service fault on our side.
5.5 Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the payment date by emailing hello@shule.ai. Refunds are granted at our discretion in cases of duplicate charges, technical failures that prevented service access, or other exceptional circumstances.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models or platform code
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service in a way that circumvents subscription limits
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Upload or transmit harmful code, malware, or any content designed to disrupt the Service
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users through any feature of the platform
- Post, share, or generate content that is hateful, obscene, or sexually explicit
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
7. Content Guidelines
Content you submit to SHULE.AI (including questions and chat messages) must:
- Be educational in nature or directly related to studying
- Be appropriate for the age group using the platform
- Not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Comply with the Kenyan Constitution and applicable laws
We provide a content reporting mechanism. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and actioned within a reasonable timeframe. We may remove content that violates these guidelines without notice.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our IP
The SHULE.AI name, logo, platform design, AI models, and all content produced by the platform are owned by or licensed to SHULE.AI. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property outside of your personal, non-commercial use of the Service.
8.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of the questions and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant SHULE.AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
9. AI Disclaimer
SHULE.AI uses large language model technology to generate educational responses. Please be aware that:
- AI responses may occasionally contain inaccuracies or errors — always verify important information with your teacher or official study materials
- AI-generated exam questions are for practice purposes only and do not represent official Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) papers
- The AI is not a substitute for professional tutoring, counselling, or medical advice
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SHULE.AI shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
- Loss of data, revenue, or academic results connected to your use of AI-generated content
- Service interruptions caused by third-party providers, network failures, or events outside our control
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to SHULE.AI in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@shule.ai.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if continued access poses a risk to the platform or other users.
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 9 (AI Disclaimer), and 10 (Limitation of Liability) survive termination.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
